Czech born and a translator by training, I have done numerous freelance translations over the years from Czech, Russian and German into English and from English, German and Russian into Czech, in addition to providing a full translation service to the staff of the Research and Technology Division of British Gas (now Advantica ) where I worked for 26 years. I have also done translations for numerous smaller firms, including quantity surveyors, solicitors, toy manufacturers, exporters etc. With Czech being my mother language, while English has been my language of habitual use for the last 29 years, I am fully bilingual and translate into both English and Czech. I specialise in technical and business translations, while focusing on the Czech-English language combination.

As a member of the Panel of Court Interpreters of the UK Immigration Appellate Authority and of the Panel of Interpreters of the Nationality and Immigration Department of the Home Office, I also provide certified Czech-English or English-Czech translations of official documents such as birth certificates, marriage certificates, educational certificates etc. I am registered on the UK National Register of Public Service Interpreters and fully qualified to interpret in UK Courts of Law.

My rates are very favourable, as I can and do keep my overheads to a minimum.

My extensive experience, attention to detail, low overheads and a wide range of contacts, whom I can bring in on larger projects to assist with editing etc., mean that I can provide an efficient and cost effective translation service and guarantee customer satisfaction. I have excellent references which can be provided on request. I am a member of the Chartered Institute of Library and Information Professionals and the Institute of Translation and Interpreting and adhere to the Institute's Code of Conduct.
